Various Napoleonics for Borodino Project

Posted by Rosbif on 02 Oct 2013, 02:31

Hi all,

I've been busy with more units for my IV Corps Borodino project including the first of 4 Bavarian cavalry units, another infantry regiment and the first of 8 regimental guns.

The first picture is of Cheveau-Leger No.6 using riders form HaT 8030 and horses from Esci 218. I also added reins using black cotton thread. Cue lots of sweraing :angry3: :angry2: :angry1: !

Image

The second picture is a regimental gun using a 15mm metal Eureka Austrian 6lb gun to stand in for and Austrian 3lb gun being fired by a figure from HaT 8229 with a head mod using that from a figure from HaT 8095.

The third is of an infantry battalion of HaT 8146 figures with head modifications using mainly metal Franznap heads except for 2 using heads form Italeri 6002

Another fine set of figures from you Rosbif, I hate those old esci & italeri sets of cavalry, why on earth they did not include reins on horses is beyond me, I use lead foil to make them up & like you allot of swearing. Keep up the good work I am always pleased to see it.

As usual another great group of painted figures.
Your Bavarian cavalry is quite inspiring actually. I really like the green shade you achieved. very eye catching.

Thanks all. :-D

@ Peter: Yes, only one gunner, as the whole stand represents 2x3lb guns which were dragged along beside an infantry regiment to provide moral support (not much good for anything else!). In our wargames rules the width of the base indicates the width of a unit, and the more figures, the bigger the unit, so this is about as small as you can get for an artillery unit! ;-)
